Begin by checking the manuals that came with your computer to determine memory, processing speed, hard drive, modem, and software.
 
 

To check by using the computer:

Do right click "My computer" then left click Properties. This will tell the memory and software of the computer.

Double-click "My computer" and right click drive-C and go down to Properties and Hard drive will come up.

You can check "Control Panel" on your home computers to examine Processor speed.
