- In a hurry to try building your first QuickTime VR scene? Here are
some "quickstart" instructions on how to make a QuickTime VR
"presentation" (this will orient you to the process -- later
we'll tackle how to take and stitch digital photos to make a 360 degree
panorama of an actual physical location):
- Launch Photoshop, and create a new document
that is 316 pixels high by 2976 pixels across.
- Fill this "panorama" scene with any graphics of your choice.
Imagine taking this as a "strip of paper" that you will tape
at the ends to form a ring with the graphic on the inside.
- When done, rotate your file 90 degrees counterclockwise.
- Save your file as a "pict" file (you might also want to save
it as a normal Photoshop file first).
- At the desktop, drag "pict" file icon on top of the QTVR Make Panorama 2 application to launch this
application and to turn your file into a QuickTime VR scene. (Use the default
settings at first to get the hang of it, then play with the settings afterwards.)
- Quit the QTVR Make Panorama 2 application.
- Launch your QTVR scene and enjoy! (you will need the QTVRPlayer.)
