This workshop will focus on some of the advanced features of Authorware. I plan on showing the following techniques: 1) technique #3 from my book Getting Interactive with Authorware - this will show how to build the "click and hold" response type to control which particular frame of a QuickTime movie is displayed at any given time; 2) how to build a Q&A using just one interaction icon that presented an unlimited number of questions by reading data from a text file saved to the disk; 3) how to build your own model railroad program; and 4) a target area response type that updates variables depending on the name of the icon put into the target (this technique comes from helping Beaumie Kim last week -- it's an interesting approach that many of you might find interesting).
All these techniques require a good understanding of fundamental programming ideas, especially the manipulation of variables. This is NOT an introductory workshop -- the explanations will be at the intermediate to advanced levels. (Novices are welcome to join us, but keep this in mind.)
Time permitting, a "sneak preview" of Authorware 5 Attain will be presented (Click here to view the workshop agenda.)
This workshop assumes you have an "intermediate to advanced" understanding of Authorware.
This workshop is not yet being offered.
