World Wide Interactive Learning Design Team: Join the WWILD Team

Seminar date/time: Tuesday, September 28, 1999, 6:15-7:15 p.m.
Location: Room 601 Aderhold Hall

Seminar Description

This seminar will introduce a web-based delivery model of instruction focusing on interactivity. The model is specifically designed to facilitate the exchange of interactive modules, such as those required in EDIT 6200. The very best interactive modules designed by Studio participants will be included in the WWILD Team Database.

The first part (approx.45 minutes) of the seminar will discuss issues surrounding web-based instruction and will focus on how the WWILD Team model addresses current weaknesses. This first part is relevant to all individuals interested in developing interactive web-based instruction. The second part of the seminar (approx. 15 minutes) of the seminar will address characteristics of EDIT 6200 individual projects and how they relate to the WWILD Team.

This seminar will be conducted by Lloyd Rieber. Cara Pasley will also assist in the presentation of this seminar.

Seminar Preparation

Review the WWILD home page at http://itech1.coe.uga.edu/wwild/ before the seminar. In particular, try to read my concept paper.

Review the following model instructional web sites before the seminar:

Lloyd's web-based lesson on constructivism (This incorporates an interactive module called "SimSchool" -- a simulation about educational philosophy)

Lloyd's web lesson about physics (This incorporates an interactive module called "Space Shuttle Commander" -- a simulation about Newton's laws of motion)

An interactive module demonstrating perceptual principles of animation (Consider how one might incorporate this into a web-based lesson)
