Application Information

The Learning, Design & Technology Program offers graduate degrees in three specializations.

  • Learning, Design & Technology (Ph.D, M.Ed.) — Preparing scholars and reflective practitioners to study how learning research and theory is enacted in practice, and how to advance learning theory through design and technology.
  • Instructional Design & Development (Ed.S., M.Ed.) — Provides students with knowledge of cutting-edge computer and multimedia technology and its application in diverse educational contexts, such as K-12 education, higher education, and training situations in business and industry.
  • School Library Media (Ed.S., M.Ed.) — Provides individuals with professional level skills in the organization and application of resources to the solution of instructional problems within schools.

If you are planning to visit Athens and would like information regarding a departmental visit, interviews with current students, or guidance on the application process, please contact the ITSA President. If you have already scheduled a departmental visit with the administration, you will be put in touch with the ITSA President to schedule time to meet with current students to answer any questions you may have.

Student Orientation

Various campus organizations schedule and host orientation sessions to assist incoming graduate students with adjusting to life as a student at UGA. Make plans to attend those sessions that are applicable to you.
