Doctoral PortfoliosTowards the end of their first year of doctoral work, students meet with LDT Faculty for their first year review. This meeting is a private, conversation in which students share their progress, professional goals, and future aspirations with the faculty. In order to facilitate this process, students compile web-based portfolios. Keep in mind that some students maintain their portfolio throughout their student career. Others simply post the information once and refer back to the content as needed. Feel free to contact others students if you have any questions about their experience as a doctoral student in the LDT PhD program or need advice about building your portfolio. Masters PortfoliosAs outlined in the Graduate Bulletin, all M.Ed. and Ed.S. candidates must pass a final examination administered by the academic program. The IDD faculty base this required examination on a set of procedures typically called portfolio assessment. The purpose of the portfolio is to provide an opportunity for each candidate to present a record of themselves to faculty and other students for critical assessment. Requirements and examples of past portfolios are available through the IDD Portfolio Portal. ResourcesITSA maintains a number of resources to assist fellow students with finding funding, getting published, conducting research, and more.
