For those of you who may not have seen it, I would like to point out what Clark said:
[quoting Quinn, 8 Dec 98.b] This is not to say that I don't support some resemblance to a continuum from aversion to flow, and that pragmatically we may well settle for approaching flow rather than achieving it. Heck, we do tend to have limitations on time and budget, and as it's generally a team effort there're other elements like people management as well. It's just that I think we can improve the outcomes of our educational practice activities if we look to engagement for inspiration in design....
I think this is an excellent point to say that we may need to settle for getting close to flow than achieving it completely. I think this is a more practical and attainable goal than trying to engender it everytime. There are elements of flow that are difficult to provide for (such as a sense of altered time), but to provide for others is a decent goal, I think.
