received his Ph.D. in instructional design and technology from
The Ohio State University in1991. He was a post-doctoral fellow
at the Highly Interactive Computing Environments Lab at the
University of Michigan (1991-1993) and was an Assistant Professor
in Instructional System Technology at Indiana University on
the Indianapolis campus (1993-1998) before joining the Learning
and Performance Support Laboratory and the Instructional Technology
Department at UGA (1998).
His research interests include emerging
technologies in participatory learning environments, postmodern
theories of education, constructionist and apprenticeship
learning, and instructional design with emergent technologies.

His projects
include the Digital Weather Station where children use state-of-the-art
3D technologies to visualize real-time weather data and the
Virtual Solar System Project where learners construct virtual
solar system models within an introductory astronomy course. |
