Harriman is the Associate Director of the Office
of Instructional Support and Development (http://www.oisd.uga.edu)
at UGA which provides
programs and services to faculty campus wide to enhance their
teaching. His office works closely with the Instructional Technology
Department to provide opportunities for IT graduate assistants
and interns to extend their IT coursework in the development
of digital media and web applications for various instructional
projects for faculty in a university setting. He also teaches
a course in educational video and assists with other activities
including off campus internships.
Jay has managed technology-related services
and programs and taught education and communications in higher
education and
in a K-12 independent school. His research interests are in
distance education and technology support for teaching and
learning, and he holds an undergraduate in Journalism, Master's
in Educational Media and Doctorate in Adult Education from
the University of Georgia. He currently is the incoming President
of the Association
for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
