General Information
Most important:  Don't wait until the last minute.
Touch base with your advisor at least once per semester.  Also, keep abreast of Grad School Deadlines. If you enrolled  Fall 2006 or later, consult the Graduate School Continuous Enrollment rules before you take a semester "off."

If you're following the Cohort Plan, you will probably hear all you need to know in Saturday class. Once you know what you're going to take, email your advisor this information:

• Name
• All courses you've had up to now (this degree only)
• What you're taking now
• What you want to take next
• When you plan to graduate

With these few information items, the advisor can usually check your status and clear you for registration. He/she will let you know if more discussion is necessary.

Dr. Fitzgerald's advisees: you may simply write a note and leave it in your folder, or email - your choice.

Remember: Don't wait until the last minute.  You must be cleared by your advisor, and professors often disappear to points unknown for days at a time!  If you take care of registration well in advance, you will minimize your worries.

EDAP 8080 - School Finance - Sielke - Gwinnett - Mondays 5:00-8:45 - #89-579. 4 hours of graduate credit. Instruction may include web-based instruction. (The calendar for face-to-face and web-based sessions will be developed later.) Course Description:

This class is focused on the funding of K-12 public schools. Currently, many school finance issues are “on the burner” in the state of Georgia that will be the topics of the coursework: The ongoing school finance litigation about adequately funding the QBE (Quality Basic Education Act), the work of IBM in developing a new funding model to replace the QBE, to be called IE2 (Investing in Education Excellence), 2007 legislative session, restructuring the tax system in Georgia. Additional topics include, equity and adequacy for both students and taxpayers, how other states fund schools, school district budgeting and allocation of resources to schools.
