Course Description
This course introduces pre-service teachers to ways in which Instructional Technology (IT) can enhance the learning/teaching process.  Participants apply basic principles and practices of IT and acquire hands-on experience in the operation of microcomputers and a range of software applications that can be used to support learning and teaching in K-12 educational settings.  Participants are challenged to think about and discuss the role of technology in the classroom and society at large.  This course is designed for the beginning to intermediate technology user.

Grading Policy Attendance
In this class, participation is of the utmost importance. To miss any class seriously compromises your learning, because much of the work for this course is completed during class time in a hands-on lab setting.  To help track attendance, I will ask you to sign an attendance roster during the first 10 minutes of each class. Unexcused absences beyond one for the semester and/or lack of in-class participation will result in a loss of points toward your overall grade.  If you must miss a class, it is very helpful to notify me in advance if possible. Afterward, it is your responsibility to find out what occurred during your absence and to make up any missed work.
