Welcome to my photography page. I took this picture in May, 2003, on the Nantahala River Gorge in North Carolina.
Here's another Gorge picture of the Nantahala River.
Somehow this shot from the back door of my cabin on the Nantahala River gives me a great deal of peace. The path is surrounded by tall hemlocks that have grown up since the lumbering days around the turn of the century until the 1930's. The day before this storm, I had mowed the grass around the cabin on a very mild day.
The river can be extremely beautiful in a late March snowstorm when all the snow sticks to the trees. By 10am the morning of the storm, the branches had dropped all the snow to go bare again.
This rail fence is a friend's favorite. It reminds her of the rail fence surrounding her family's home when she was growing up.

I love this tree with every branch having the same amount of snow clinging to it.

Summertime on the Nantahala River close to Lake Nantahala can be a wonderful chance to canoe in the evening when the water is very still. Yes, this is a wild rainbow trout that I captured last year in one of the pools when the water was exceptionally low.
One of my favorite photographs was taken this summer in Athens by my grandson, Daniel.

Thanks for visiting. See you again soon with new photographs.
